We can consider owners applying in sole name where they are married or in a civil partnership.
Key points:
- Gifted deposit - We will be unable to proceed where any portion of the deposit is being sourced from the non-applicant third party partner
- Credit History - Where owners are applying solely in their own name due to a partner having an adverse credit history, this is generally acceptable subject to the non-applicant partner not having significant outstanding debt at the point of application
- Independent Legal Advice (ILA) - The non-owning partner will require Independent Legal Advice (ILA). We will require the applicant to provide consent for Gen H to contact the third party in order to initiate this ILA process, and this consent will be formally requested during the underwriting stage
